Slim Shaker Cabinets

Slim shaker keeps the recessed-panel construction of a classic shaker door but narrows the stiles and rails to 0.6 inches. The result reads more modern from across the room while still giving your hardware a flat, easy mounting surface — something a full slab door does not.

Choose slim shaker over classic shaker when your kitchen leans contemporary but you are not ready for a handleless European look. It pairs well with plain quartz counters and simple square-edge hardware; heavy traditional molding tends to fight against the thin frame.

One construction note we always share: slim shaker doors use an engineered HDF panel under the paint rather than a glued-up wood panel. On a frame this thin that is the right call — it keeps the painted face dead flat and stops hairline cracks at the joints. Drawer boxes stay solid wood dovetail.

Darker colors show the frame shadow line less, so if you are picking Charcoal Black or Jade Green, ask us to bring both door samples to your design appointment and compare them in your own light.
